BKR(Boda karuna Ram)welfare society, an Indian social development organization, is directly benefitting over 15 lakh children and their families every year. We have more than 400 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood, and women’s empowerment in over 2,000 remote villages and urban slums across 25 states of India. The groundwork for a better life lies in education. It is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. However, a child cannot be educated in isolation. Only an empowered family, especially the mother, would be willing to educate their child. Thus, rather than focusing on only one stage of a person's life, we believe in the lifecycle approach. Education empowers an individual to earn their livelihood and also increases one's awareness on a range of issues. From healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights – BKR welfare society seeks to educate, empower and cultivate better citizens.

The rising cost in education has made it extremely cumbersome for financially weak families in India to let their children pursue studies . About 70% of rural Indians are not able to complete 10th class education . Pursuing a child in general courses means average expenditure of Rs 40,000 p.a.
We are able to save lives by empowering women and girls in communities, by income-generating projects. It is more than securing a better income for families. The empowerment and autonomy of women and the improvement of their political, social, economic and health status .
Thousands of children will die today due to preventable causes. Villagers in the areas we serve suffer from a variety of water-borne diseases and infections as well as from malnutrition and other health complications that arise from poverty-stricken living conditions.
